Quick Grab Guest Post: ‘Sun Sand Waves’ by Tarrah McLean

Sun Sand Waves LayoutEd’s note: Today we’re featuring a gorgeous layout by a super-talented scrapbooker that you should all get to know –Tarrah McLean. Tarrah came to my attention when she sent me an email asking to do a guest post on the blog–and I couldn’t resist!

We’re always looking for more guest bloggers. (Particularly those who are a little scared to submit to the physical magazine. This is a nice way to get published even if you don’t think you’re ready yet!). Please consider emailing me — check out the bottom of this post to see how you can become a guest blogger!

This is what Tarrah had to say about her layout:

I love how the Pink Paislee Colour Wash background paper comes with the gorgeous colours blending all together. I am particularly happy with how each element is placed on this layout, strategically placing them in a way so that they were in the same colour region on the patterned paper.

I misted the ‘Hello’ tag under the photo to do the same (check out the photo on the right!) If you look closely you can see the bottom of the tag is in the grey region then as you progress to the top of the tag it has been misted in the pinkish tones. I also wanted to create the diagonal illusion on my layout, so the eye is drawn by the blending of colours from top to bottom (or bottom to top, depending on how you look at it).

You can find more of Tarrah’s work on her blog, via her Instagram or by friending her on Facebook!
