Guest Post: Making some colour magic! (By Sandra Scott)

Ed’s note: Firstly, I must apologise PROFUSELY to Sandra for the lateness of posting this guest post. It was supposed to be posted a month ago. Alas, time escaped me. Secondly, you have to check out the pictures on this post–AMAZING. ❤ E

I was lucky enough to attend an event with Heidi Swapp and Kim Jeffress last year and I’d like to show you a layout I’ve created using the Color Magic resist paper and Color Shine sprays.

You could also use Dylusions ink spray for a really vibrant colour and no shimmer or Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst spray, the application is endless really because you may like to use your favourite sprays.

I chose an appropriate resist paper that would suit my photos and layout. Then I went for it and began to spray, you will always achieve a different look depending on the amount and type of spray you use and I think that’s what makes it exciting. I used three different Color Shine sprays and the camera is sprayed with Dylusions ink spray.

I like to use the nozzle of the spray bottle to add dots or splats to the page for an added dimension as well as stamping. Depending on the colours on the page I will choose a colour that’s appealing to me for the stamping.

I used my new Silhouette Cameo machine for the title, black arrows and film strip and the transparent clocks are from Kaisercraft. As there were bits of the pink/red colour in the photo I used matching Liquid Pearls to add centres to the clocks and dot around the page.

I also think by choosing related elements, such as the film strip and clocks, it enhances the meaning of your journaling.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my layout and try the resist paper and sprays for yourself.
