Machine Sewing on your Paper

Machine sewing is another way to add wonderful stitches to our projects.  (We interviewed Anne Patterson this week about her hand stitching on her layouts.) Straight-line borders, zig zag highlights and free machine sewing are only some of the effective and fun things that you can do.  I machine sew all the time on my work as it serves the double purpose of aesthetically adding texture and interest while practically attaching and joining papers and other items together. Here is a very clear video by Lori Craig that will hopefully demystify threading up your machine, loading your bobbin and putting your ‘foot and needle’ to paper. (A step-by-step tutorial is available here!)

Good luck with your sewing.  I would love to see some of your ‘stitched’ work. — Jenny
