‘That Perfect Cut’ Everytime

Good morning readers!

There are lots of gorgeous stamps on the market that come with coordinating dies to cut them out.  The use of magnetic plates in our cutting machines or good old fashion sticky tape and lining up makes this a wonderful thing…or does it?!  Recently, I have been trying to cut out detailed stamped images with their matching dies and not getting the results  I hope for.  That was until I discovered this wonderful technique on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

I want to share with you this relatively simple technique so you too may get ‘that perfect cut’ every time.

dollsFirstly, stamp your images onto your paper.

Use your die cut to make a template.  Use a small piece of sticky tape to hinge the die onto your scrap card and run through your cutting machine.

Three: Flip up your die and line up the stamped image underneath.  I like to use masking tape to tape the template to my metal-cutting plate so it does not move.

Then, cut with your cutting machine of choice.

And, voila! Intricate stamped shapes perfectly cut out.

The Stamps and Dies used in this tutorial were by Heartfelt Creations Open Vintage Floret Pre-cut Set, Mini Vintage Floret Pre-Cut Set and Vintage Floret HCS 727 Custom Die.

Next post, I will show you how to make amazing flowers with these stamps.
