As Design Diva week continues, we received a HUGE selection of Jasmine Shea’s latest pages and couldn’t help but publish three of them. They are bold, they are beautiful and they deserve to be seen! A bit from Jasmine about the layouts below…
Layout: New Hair Do
Tip 1: Use a variety of washi tape on white cardstock to create a background for your photo.
Tip 2: Incorporate embellishments or other elements as your title.
Tip 3: Running string/thread randomly throughout your page takes the viewers eye across all areas of interest.
“I have kept this page simple in it’s design due to the bold background paper. Using gesso and bright green paint this breaks up the pattern behind the photo. To create embellishments for my skate themed page, I Googled “skate” images and found the “live to skate” and “skaters only” logos. I copied them, pasted them into a word doc, altered the size and printed them on photo paper. I think it works well when you don’t have ‘that something’ for your theme. The other thing I did with this page was to Google “skate quotes” to come up with something different for my journaling.”
Using a variety of inks diluted with water creates a watercolour effect for the background. Using stamps and stencils you can create a bloom of flowers, add individual flowers and punched butterflies to finish the page. A page like this can be very effective and not cost a lot of money to put together.
